In the face of devastating wildfires, the strength of community and the power of collective action become more evident than ever. As the Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia, we understand the critical importance of providing support, resources, and assistance to those affected by such catastrophic events. With unwavering commitment, we have created this comprehensive resource page to aid individuals, families, and communities impacted by wildfires across Nova Scotia.

As an organization deeply rooted in rural Nova Scotia, we believe in the power of collaboration and community resilience. Through this resource page, we aim to foster a sense of togetherness and empower individuals to navigate the challenges posed by wildfires. We have compiled information from local, provincial, and national sources, ensuring that you have access to the most accurate and up-to-date information available.

We Rise Again Fund

As Nova Scotians continue to deal with wildfires, evacuation orders and the aftermath of those wildfires now under control, the We Rise Again Fund has been set up to help communities rebuild from the devastation, including mental health supports.

Established with a $100,000 donation from an anonymous donor, the We Rise Again Fund is facilitated by the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia, in partnership with Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia and Ulnooweg Indigenous Communities Foundation. It is intended to help with long-term recovery efforts, be it mental health supports, infrastructure, climate adaption efforts or other needs as identified by impacted communities when they are ready for rebuilding.
