Christopher Googoo is a proud member of the We’koqma’q First Nation, living in Millbrook with his wife and three children. Since joining Ulnooweg Development Group in 2000, he has helped hundreds of Aboriginal entrepreneurs secure loans and access business services. Chris also co-led the development of the Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Economic Development Strategy and played a key role in bringing the Digital Mi’kmaq initiative to Mi’kmaq communities across Nova Scotia.
Chris joined Ulnooweg in April 2000 as a procurement liaison officer and then became a commercial account manager serving the Nova Scotia region. In 2006, he was appointed general manager of Ulnooweg. In recognition of his contribution to the overall management of Ulnooweg as a growing organization, his title was changed to chief operating officer in 2017.
Chris is a Board member of the Community Sector Council of Nova Scotia, Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia, The Centre for Local Prosperity, Innovacorp and the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. For over a decade, Chris was a board member of the National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association, representing the Atlantic and Quebec region.
Chris has a bachelor of business administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University.
